Students sensitised about Civil Services

CURCHOREM: Curchorem Super School Complex I led by Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik HSS recently organised a unique programme of sensitising the students about the Civil Services in India and Goa.

CURCHOREM: Curchorem Super School Complex I led by Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik HSS recently organised a unique programme of sensitising the students about the Civil Services in India and Goa.
The Complex has been organising such a programme for last several years for the benefit of students of member schools.
Maguesh Sardessai of People’s Higher Secondary School Panjim was the resource person, who gave detailed information about the procedure, exam, fees, preparation, syllabus, etc, of Indian Administrative Services and also of Goa state.
Sardessai appealed to the students to write the main exam in Konkani language and stressed on the importance of keeping abreast with news and current affairs.
During the formal function, Dr Manoj Kamat, vice president of Goa Multi Faculty College Darbandora, was the chief guest, who lamented that students only think of pedicine and engineering. “Parents and general public are not aware of a career in Indian Administrative Services,” he said.
He narrated the story of an average family of North India and their interest and efforts towards clearing IAS exams. He appreciated the efforts of Smt Chandrabhaga Tukoba Naik HSS in this regard and said more combined and concrete efforts at State level are needed for which he assured he would take initiation.
Earlier, Principal Vaman Bhadri welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest and the resource person. M N Prabhu compered the programme, while Vice Principal Prallhad Dessai proposed the vote of thanks.
