PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party  has decried the political happenings in the State claiming it has been embroiled in long succession battle and has thrown the administration into a free for all.
Addressing a joint press conference on Wednesday, AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes and Gen Secy Pradeep Padgaonkar said the common man was deprived of even water and uninterrupted power, during Chaturthi.
“BJP is fighting to save their minority government with the leadership having no trust in their second rung, which was from the Bahujan Samaj and in keeping with their culture of power in select hands; it is trying to import a CM from outside. The divided opposition is clueless about what to do next,” Gomes said.
“The basic needs of the people such as water, electricity, health, education, jobs are not on their agenda. It’s a free for all situation with middlemen dictating government functioning and in such a situation where no one is watching, all are making hay before the sun sets by plundering the State’s scarce resources,” he added.
Padgaonkar questioned Goa Forward Party’s silence over news that some coalition partners would be joining BJP to take over from Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar when MGP MLAs had denied such a move.
“Goa Forward had during Assembly elections claimed that they were a regional party and there was no high command. Goa Forward would do well in telling people as to why they were bending before the BJP/RSS leadership,” he said.
