Sudip Dalvi, member of Musical Warriors and Save Tiracol Movement, who closely worked with Fr Bismarque Dias claimed that the police assaulted him on his forehead.
“North SP Umesh Gaonkar will pay my bills. He hit me on my forehead with his hand while pushing me into the van. He attacked me again by banging my head against the window (of the van). I remained unconscious for 45 minutes without medical treatment,” he told this reporter.
An MRI was taken as soon as he reached the hospital. “I am holding vital clues of Fr Bismarque’s death. Since I hold all the proof of what he underwent, I fear that I’ll be attacked and that is why I will not let any government servant close to me,” he added.
Another victim, Fatima Saldanha, who was admitted to GMC for high blood pressure accused the police of manhandling her while detaining her.
Dalvi pointed fingers at the government and SP Gaonkar over the death of Fr Bismarque. SP Gaonkar, said, “Media persons were witness to the protest. They are in the best position to describe the exact situation.”
