PONDA: PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has challenged former chief minister Ravi Naik to demand a probe into the Kashimath ground constructed and inaugurated by the latter a few months ago.
He stated that all his works were transparent and again alleged that the ongoing renovation of the Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir (RGKM) had several irregularities, including lack of government approval. He claimed that then Chief Minister Digambar Kamat had not given permission to demolish the RGKM, but instead, had placed remarks on the files asking the authorities to see why it needed renovation. Dhavalikar added that he had several files to prove his claims.
On Monday, following a row on the RGKM renovation works, Dhavalikar and Naik demanded investigations into each other’s projects. While Dhavalikar alleged there were several irregularities in the RGKM works, Naik demanded that the government inquire into the expenditure incurred on the Kashimath ground project in Marcaim constituency.
On Friday, Dhavalikar also refuted Naik’s allegations that he had failed to bring developmental projects in Marcaim constituency. He stated, “If I had not brought any developmental works, why did the people of Marcaim constituency elect me with a lead of 12,000 votes and earlier with above 7,000 votes?
H also said that the new RTO office near the Kadamba bus stand at Shapur, Ponda will be inaugurated on January 26, in 2016 and that most of the works there will be computerised.
