CM drops Dhavalikar from Cabinet, Governor approves

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday dropped his deputy Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar from the cabinet.
The notification issued by Varsh Naik, Under Secretary – General Administration Department states, “The Governor of Goa is pleased to accept the recommendation of the Chief Minister that Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar shall cease to be minister in the council of ministers headed by the chief minister, with immediate effect.”
Earlier, in a communication addressed to Governor Mridula Sinha, Sawant informed her of dropping Dhavalikar from the State cabinet. “I have dropped Sudin Dhavalikar from the cabinet. The decision on filling up the vacant seat will be taken very soon,” Sawant said.
Dhavalikar had been allotted the Transport and Public Works Department portfolios which would be now be handled by the Chief Minister.
Sinha, who was in New Delhi, has cut short her visit and returned to Goa Wednesday evening to administer the oath of office to the new minister. 
The dropping of Dhavalikar left a vacancy in the State cabinet vacant which is likely to be filled by Dipak Pawaskar, a former MGP MLA who along with Manohar Ajgaonkar, merged the MGP legislature wing into the BJP.
