PONDA: Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar on Wednesday supported the initiative of Ponda MLA and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik to set up third district in Ponda taluka. He said the third district will definitely benefit public.
Dhavlikar was speaking after launching new 220 KVA Transformer at Bandora. Sudin even suggested Naik that he should set up the third district offices at land owned by Transport Department located near KTC Bus Stand, which is spread in around 92,000 square metres area. He said this land was acquired by Transport Department when he was transport minister.
Dhavlikar said all the government offices required for third district need vast land and it can be set up in this vast area owned by Transport Department. He even appreciated Naik for his effort to set up third district and also urged other ministers in taluka to support the initiative for third district.
It may be recalled that Naik after winning the election had said that his topmost priority was to make Ponda a third district, which is his dream project for the common man who is suffering and inconvenienced to travel to distant places to get done their official work.
He had said that nearby talukas and Panchayats will be added to the Ponda Sub District office, which will be located in the heart of Ponda city.
