PANJIM: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leader Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar said that till Sunday evening (6 pm) Congress had not decided on its leader and questioned that in such a situation how could MGP be expected to negotiate with Congress.
“They (Congress) had told me that they will decide the leader by 11 am on Sunday, but they have not replied. There is no question of approaching Congress, we required development and other than the BJP there is no alternative as they are (in power) at the Centre and we can get money for development of Goa,” Dhavalikar said declaring his support to the BJP.
He said that for the sake of development Parrikar is required as chief minister and that is the reason why the MGP wants him back.
“As per the resolution taken by the party we had passed a resolution and then forwarded it to the BJP high command stating that if and only if Manohar Parrikar is considered as the CM of Goa we are ready to support BJP in government formation,” he said.
He added that after this was agreed upon, MGP decided to support BJP.
