Surge continues, as 7 more die

PANJIM: As COVID-19 cases continue to see a surge, deaths of positive persons is also showing no signs of improvement. Seven more COVID-19 patients died on Monday, thus marking the highest single-day death toll. This takes the death toll to 111. 

While five of those who died are women, two are men. A 35-year-old man from Chimbel was brought dead to GMC and the post-mortem test confirmed his COVID-19 status, while a 67-year-old woman from Curchorem was brought dead to the South Goa District Hospital and later found to be COVID positive in the post-mortem. The other deceased, as per the health bulletin, include an 83-year-old woman from Siolim, a 91-year-old man from Ponda, a 76-year-old woman from Baina, a 64-year-old woman from Cuncolim and a 56-year-old woman from Aldona. 

The State also recorded 355 positive cases and 283 recoveries on a single day on Monday. The total active COVID-19 cases count stands at 3,825.
