MARGAO: PI Tukaram Chavan, who was suspended while working as PI Cuncolim Police Station following allegations of bribes by Aam Aadmi Party, has been reinstated in service with immediate effect.
The then Director General of Police vide order issued on March 15 2024, Tukaram who was posted to District Police Reserve Line, South, Margao, is reinstated in service at Police Headquarters, Panaji till his regular posting.
His period of suspension from September 7 2023 till the eve of the date he joins duty, will be treated as “on duty”.
It may be recalled that on September 7, 2023, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Range) Aslam Khan, IPS, had placed PI Chavan under suspension.
