PANJIM: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured the Finnish Foreign Minister to look into speeding up the police investigation into the murder of Felix Dahl.
Minna Pirhonen, the mother of Dahl had sought the intervention of the Indian External Affairs Minister through the Finnish Foreign Minister Tino Soini, who was in India two days ago.
“I have received an email from Secretary of the Foreign Minister that a meeting took place with Indian Minister Sushma Swaraj and Felix’s case was discussed and the Minister promised to look into the matter to speed up the police with their investigation,” Pirhonen told Herald.
The matter is also being heard by the High Court of Bombay at Goa to shift the investigation from Goa Police to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This was after the family approached the HC alleging that there is no headway in the case.
Dahl had died on January 28, 2015 at Patnem, Canacona, in mysterious circumstances.
According to family members, Dahl was murdered in Patnem. His mother has been demanding it be registered as a murder but Canacona Police failed to do so. It is only after court’s direction the Police registered it as a murder.
