PANJIM: Taking off from the commitment made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah of doubling the development in Goa, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant highlighted the efforts undertaken by the BJP governments and claimed the previous governments had failed to bring in any development since Goa’s Liberation.
Ahead of the interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Swayampurna Mitras next week, Sawant said the Swayampurna Goa initiative is eradicating red tapism in the bureaucracy and is ensuring that the public is getting the benefits as well as knowledge of welfare schemes.
The Chief Minister had an interaction with Swayampurna Mitras and reviewed the Swayampurna Goa Mission.
Reiterating that the BJP government has been working for the betterment of the people of Goa, Sawant claimed that since Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, the development in Goa across various sectors had accelerated further.
He added that the State is slowly emerging as an education hub and innovation centre and cited the numerous education institutes that are there in Goa including the National Institute of AYUSH and the recently inaugurated Forensic University.
He also said that the State government had also focused on empowering rural women, helping them educate, achieve sustainable income, and thus becoming truly swayampurna.
