PANJIM: The elections for eleven wards of Taleigao panchayat will be held on April 28, while the counting will take place the next day.
The five-year term of the existing panchayat body will come to an end next month. An election notice issued by Panchayat Director Rajendra Satardekar said that an election will be held to elect the members of the VP of Taleigao on April 28.
Of the total 11 wards, wards No 1, 2, 5 and 8 are reserved for women, while ward No 10 for OBC and ward No 4 for Schedule Tribe. The State Election Commissioner RK Srivastava said counting will take place on April 29 as the five-year term of the existing body ends by April end.
He said that the filing of nomination process will begin from April 8 with last date being April 15. The withdrawals of nominations will take place on April 18.
