PANJIM: Fr John D’Costa of the Diocese of Shimla Chandigarh, a specialist in acupressure will deliver a lecture on ‘Benefits of Acupressure’ on Saturday and also hold a two-day workshop on the same on May 19 and 20. D’Costa, who will be in the State till May 30, will also provide free services to people.
“Acupressure is a current passing through the body. Acupressure practitioners use their fingers, palms, elbows or feet, or special devices to apply pressure to acupoints on the body’s meridians. Sometimes, acupressure also involves stretching or acupressure massage, as well as other methods,” D’Costa said.
He added, “All sicknesses can be cured except for third degree sickness like cancer, AIDS and tuberculosis. If you learn this technique of acupressure, you can be your own doctor. You can have medical checkups everyday sitting at home and give treatment if pain starts such as headache. Also you can prevent sickness.”
He further said he will be available in Goa till May 30 and anybody who wishes to learn the techniques of acupressure or treatment can contact him. He added that he will be delivering a lecture on the benefits of acupressure on Saturday at 5.30 pm at Institute Piedade and will also be hold a workshop on May 19 and 20.
