PANJIM: A tanker driver had a narrow escape when the vehicle he was driving lost control and fell into the waters of River Mandovi at Patto-Ribandar causeway on Saturday. The vehicle turned turtle and the driver luckily moved out safely, Old Goa police said.
“The driver told us that he was trying to save a two-wheeler rider, who overtook the tanker dangerously on the busy road. But the tanker lost control and fell into the water,” the police said. The vehicle was fished out with the help of a crane thereafter, and a self accident case lodged.
