FILLING BUCKETS: Due to a ruptured water pipeline, the residents of Benaulim and Colva were left without water supply for two continuous days. The situation had turned so bad that residents were forced to draw water from their wells or visit their neighbours’ well and make other arrangements for water. Residents complained since the PWD had failed to warn the residents beforehand about the water supply shortage, they did not get a chance to make arrangements and their tanks ran dry by the end of the first day. Locals initially thought it was a regular water shortage issue till their taps ran dry for the entire day. Repair work on the water pipelines currently underway at Benaulim has frustrated the locals as the digging has left the roads in a bad shape. It may be recalled that the work of constructing a 750 cubic meter overhead water reservoir was recently launched at Cavelossim to address the water shortage issues in Benaulim.
