PONDA: The villagers of Nanus-Usgao are facing water shortage for the last 4-5 days as there has been no supply through the taps.
The locals are provided with water tanker and ironically, the village is based on the banks of Mhadei River which provides water to major parts of the State.
About a month back, the locals had cornered the PWD assistant engineer Yashwant Mapari over the shortage of drinking water but the situation has not improved till date.
Mapari assured that the pipelines would be repaired soon but the locals have peeved at that situation was still the same. The PWD is supplying the water through tanks however it is a tedious work for the locals to keep filling their vessels with it.
