BICHOLIM: Despite there being water shortage and irregular supply of water to the people in Bicholim, the PWD has not bothered to repair the pipeline at Vathadev, from which gallons of water going waste every day.
Due to a rupture in the pipeline at Vathadev, the taps are running dry in several parts of Bicholim including Bordem and Bandarwada. On Monday, some workers attempted to repair the pipeline, but failed.
According to the locals, the pipeline burst eight days ago but the PWD failed to repair the same so far. Criticising the attitude of the PWD, one Gauri Chodankar from Bordem said, “It is surprising that in one area so much of water is going waste, while we are not getting drinking water.”
