PERNEM: Kasarwane and Varkhand villagers alleged that the ongoing underground cabling work has damaged the water pipeline and their taps have run dry for the last 22 days.
Villagers said that due to no other source of water, they are finding it difficult to carry out their day to day activities. Although the villagers have placed this matter before PWD officials, the crisis is yet to be resolved.
“Summer has just arrived. If this is the situation now then what will happen during the month of May. We approached the MLA and he made provision of tankers but PWD official is not taking any action to resolve this issue even after complaining about it”, villagers said.
“The AE visited the spot after we made a complaint but no further action has been taken till date”, the villagers added.
They said that the local panchayat is aware of the said issue but the panchayat has turned a blind eye. Villagers said that if the PWD cannot provide tap water then at least government should make provision of well.
