PANJIM: The Crime Branch on Saturday night arrested Adv Tarak Arolkar in connection with the fake call centre case.
Arolkar was arrested for allegedly abetting the crime by allowing the call centre to operate in his premises at Kavish Residency in Colvale.
The Crime Branch said that the operations of the call centre involved in cheating several foreign nationals could not have taken place without his knowledge.
Thirty-three persons were arrested for operating a fake call centre in the name of Amazon Customer Care Centre from the premises owned by Arolkar at Colvale.
During the raid on the call centre premises, the Crime Branch had arrested the accused and seized 26 computers and accessories. Adv Arolkar was later released on bail.
