Although the Manohar International Airport saw the landing of the first commercial flight on Thursday, Pernem Yellow Black Taxi operators protested outside the airport despite the imposition of Section 144 on Wednesday night. They stated that the Local MLA Pravin Arlekar had assured that an RTO notification will be issued by 5 pm. The only thing they have to do is to change the colour of their taxis to blue.
Yellow black Taximen from Pernem are hoping for a solution to their demand for a taxi counter at Mopa international airport. Though a demand notice had been issued in the newspapers by the RTO, the taximen from Pernem want a written assurance that a counter will be opened for them at the airport, Taximen stated.
