Taxi owners’ speeches should be taken with a pinch of salt: BJP

PANJIM:  BJP State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade brushed aside the comments made by protesting taxi owners that they will see that BJP MLAs like Dayanand Sopte and Michael Lobo are defeated.

Speaking to media persons, Tanavade said it is not like someone just says something and it will happen and that MLAs are quite capable of winning the elections due to various factors such as their work for the people.

He said the speeches made by taxi owners at the protest should be taken with a pinch of salt given that the people listening to them are the taximen only.

He said their demand like scrapping of GoaMiles is not feasible as the taxi-app service was brought in legally.

He suggested that for any solution there has to be a dialogue with the government and not the manner in which they are protesting.

Regarding the taxi owners comments about teaching BJP a lesson in the elections, he said it is a democracy and anyone can contest or campaign against them if they wish to.
