MARGAO: Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge in a letter addressed to Senior Town Planner has accused the Town and Country Planning Department of blindly giving technical sanction and completion orders without following the building rules in force in the State.
While pointing out that the government has restrained panchayats from issuing Construction Licences as panchayats do not comply with the Solid Waste Management Rules, he argued that the Panchayat Raj Act has not been amended to reflect the restrictions put on panchayats.
Further he pointed out that Town and Country Planning officials issue Technical Clearances and Completion Order without considering whether provisions have been made to comply with the Solid Waste Management Rules and offered to give a detailed list of where such licences have been issued blindly.
