TCP cancels job test at last minute

PANJIM: Thousands of candidates were left in lurch after department of Town and Country Planning (TCP) rescheduled the examination for the clerical and multi-tasking staff posts just 24-hours before the aspirants were set to take the test on Sunday. 
What is more interesting is that, the candidates were unaware about the development until the advertisement issued in the newspaper went viral. Despite the phone numbers being registered with the department, it failed to communicate the candidates. 
The examination, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, is now postponed to February 9. 
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the written examination, scheduled on February 2, 2020 for the post of Lower Division Clerk and Multi-tasking staff in the TCP department have been cancelled and rescheduled on February 9, 2020,” the advertisement issued in newspaper, reads. 
The department has further said that the time and venue will remain same as informed by earlier letters. The examination will be held from 10 am to 12 pm.  
Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik remained unavailable for the comments. 
The advertisements for the posts were issued on February 28, 2019.
