TCP Min pitches for go-kart tracks

PANJIM: With the State pitching for world-class go-kart tracks following international standards, the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board on Friday resolved to allow professional go-karting tracks following international standard designs, Motocross F1, racecourses, amateur riding clubs and more, ensuring green norms and balanced development 

During the TCP’s meeting, TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane held a discussion on innovative ideation that will assist in producing a community environment in line with the Goa Land Development and Building Regulations, 2010 and the policies defined under Regional Plan for Goa 2021.

Rane said, “The Board decided that Green Certification shall be regularly monitored and the Completion Certificate is issued for certified projects, only after verifying, that the projects are in compliance with Green Certification.”

The TCP Minister said that the services of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) shall be obtained for the purpose.

Further, Rane said that the Inquiry Committee has received many representations regarding zoning provisions under the Outline Development Plans (ODPs) of Calangute-Candolim, Arpora-Nagoa-Parra, Margao and Ponda, which will be addressed. “Collectively, we are here to ensure that there is no absence of effective planning and development for our State,” he said.

The Board received applications from 20 consultancy firms for the preparation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)-based ODPs and Zoning Plans. Rane directed to shortlist the agencies depending upon various criteria.
