PANJIM: Tiswadi Block Development Officer (BDO) Manesh Kedar has sought that Old Goa Panchayat, along with Town and Country Planning (TCP) officials, inspect the controversial bungalow built by Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar at Old Goa.
The BDO has asked the Old Goa Panchayat to take necessary action within 30 days based on the report from the town planner.
As directed by the BDO, the issue of Madkaikar’s bungalow will be placed at the fortnightly meeting of the Old Goa panchayat scheduled on May 15. Madkaikar on June 13, 2011 had given a written undertaking to the government that he would, within three months, dismantle the fencing which falls within the prohibited 100 metres from the Basilica of Bom Jesus.
