The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board will finalise the surface utilization plan for Ponda and Quepem talukas in a meeting scheduled on Friday.
TCP sources stated that both the plans do not have eco-tourism hubs while micro industrial spaces are notified at certain places.
The State Government has already notified Regional Plans for Canacona and Pernem talukas while the plan for Sattari taluka is yet to be notified.
The Board had decided to notify all the plans for talukas affected with mining in a bunch.
The plans for Bicholim and Sanguem taluka will follow next.
Regional Plan 2021 has been facing lot of suspicion from the activist groups, who had said that there was no need for eco-tourism zones and several industrial zones in the backward talukas.
Police cases are also filed against State level committee headed by Chief Minister Digambar Kamat accusing them of
trying to rob the greenery of the State.
The activists had claimed that RP 2021 was an attempt to give backdoor entry for the Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
The TCP officials, however, have rubbished all the allegations claiming that the plans are meticulously done exercise to ensure that the development reaches every nook and corner of the State.
