PANJIM: The Transport Department on Wednesday issued a Public Notice asking tourist taxi operators having vehicles with Registration Number ending with last digit 0 or 1, to ensure fitment of digital meters by July 24, 2021.
“Deadline period for fitment of Digital Fare Meter with Automotive Tracking Device and Emergency System for existing Motor Cabs with Registration Number ending with last digit 0 or 1 strictly is from July 1, 2021 to July 24, 2021,” reads the notice.
As per the directions of the High Court of Bombay at Goa in the order dated May 6, 2021 and another order dated July 5, 2021 fitment of Digital Fare Meter should start within a period of 15 days and conclude within six months respectively.
