VASCO: Around 180 passengers were left stranded at Dabolim Airport on Monday night following a technical snag in the Goa-Mumbai bound flight.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source at the airport informed that on Monday evening around 180 passengers were instructed to board the flight which was scheduled to depart at 5.05 pm.
Source stated that all passengers had boarded the flight at 4.55 pm only to be informed later the flight had developed a technical snag and would depart at around 6.30 pm. Annoyed over the prolonged delay, the passengers alighted at around 9 pm.
The source further informed that the passengers were annoyed over the non coordination among the flight staff. Passengers were kept waiting till late night inside the airport terminal building as they were later informed that an alternate flight has been arranged which would depart at around 11.30 pm.
According to some passengers, they were not provided with hotel accommodation and meal and were asked to stay inside the terminal building until alternate flight was made available.
Some passengers opined that the airline companies should focus on working in sync with their staff and the technical errors should be checked before hand and not when the passengers aboard the flight.
