VASCO: An unidentified boy, aged around 15-17, died due to a fall from an eight- storied apartment in Vasco on Tuesday.
According to the Vasco police, the boy fell off from the terrace of III-B building of Seawind apartment at Vaddem, Vasco. On being informed, “We rushed to the site, conducted an inquiry and found that no one knows the boy and the people had seen him for the first time. Even the security guard manning the entry/exit gates claimed that he had seen the victim boy entering into the apartment alone at around 2.15 pm.”
The guard also claimed that since he had recently been posted at Seawind apartments, he did not know whether the boy was a resident of one of the 350-plus flats in the Seawind apartments or an outsider, police said.
“Circumstantial evidence indicates that the victim boy either committed suicide by jumping off the building or accidentally fell from the terrace. We are still investigating the case to ascertain how the boy fell off from the building,” PSI Yogesh Mandrekar said.
He said that the police was working on to establish the identity of the boy and once it is established, they would be able to ascertain whether it was an accidental fall or suicide.
Meanwhile, the police have registered the case as unnatural death. PSI Mandrekar is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Sagar Ekoskar.
