CANACONA: Canacona police have registered a case of unnatural death over the death of a 16-year old girl from Gadag, Karnataka by hanging on Saturday at her temporary residence in the southern part of Canacona.
Police said that the 16-year old girl committed suicide by hanging in the veranda of the house where she along with her family was staying on Saturday between 9 am and 1.30 pm.
The reason behind the teenage girl taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately as there was no suicide note found on her body or in the house police informed.
Police said that the teenager ended her life by hanging to the wooden rafter of the veranda.
“After conducting inquest panchanama, we have sent her body to Goa Medical College and Hospital for preservation and for performing medico legal procedures,” police said.
No foul play is suspected by the family members in the death of the girl.
The case is being investigated by PSI Ramachandra Naik under the guidance of PI Tukaram Chavan.
