Members at the Sunday gram sabha which was presided by sarpanch Duarte Pires expressed their opposition to the move of government. Villagers also took a resolution demanding that the village panchayat take up construction of road in paddy fields so that farmers can easily take tractors and other machinery to their respective fields. It was pointed by villagers that in view of there being no proper facility to take machinery, the farmers have left their fields fallow and refuse to cultivate them.
Resolution was taken to construct road in the paddy fields connecting all fields after taking NOC from farmers.
Farmers from the village demanded that the village panchayat take on itself the task of building the mouth of the water ponds (‘toles’) so that water is stored for crop cultivation. They pointed that presently there are no tenant associations to undertake the said work and that the panchayat should step in.
Resolution was adopted that panchayat shall build the mouth of water bodies until tenant associations are formed and that after formation of tenants association the said work should be taken/handed over to the respective tenant association.
