Vasco: Deputy Collector of Mormugao Sachin Dessai informed media persons that instructions have been given to the PWD officials to erect temporary sheds at various points in Mangor hill area for the safety and accommodation of police staff who are continuously on the duty outside the containment zone. The work will start on Thursday.
The Dy Collector added that protective kits such as gloves, masks etc have already been supplied to the police and additional items too will be supplied to them as per the requirements by the administration.
Regarding the supply of essential commodities to the people in the containment zone, Dessai stated that administration has been providing bags containing 4 kg rice and 1 kg dal to every household.
The other commodities such as milk, vegetables etc will also be supplied on home delivery based on the orders given by the people to the government registered shops. These will be on a pay-per-delivery basis.
“People from the containment zone can give the list of required items to the volunteers, who will supply the same to them,” Dessai added.
