MARGAO: Dattaram alias Mahesh Nayak while disclosing that for the first time since Goa’s liberation, the government has constituted the committee to hold State level meeting of Temple Management committees or Devasthans thanked Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte for it.
As per Article 39A of the Devasthan Regulations Act, the government is supposed to appoint this committee that will hear all the temple managing committees in the State and accordingly make suggestions and recommendations to govt.
He said that in the absence of this committee, the temple management committees were directly raising issues with the govt which they are not supposed to do as they are mandated to only look after the day to day functioning of the temple.
