Tenant Assn demands action against illegal shops by roadside at Siolim

MAPUSA:  Tarchen-Khajan Tenant Associatiom of Siolim have demanded that the illegal shops on the road side stretch leading to Siolim Tar market be demolished.

Addressing media on Tuesday, the association said that these structures are posing a threat to the embankment of the river as well is causing traffic congestion in the locality. They said that this land was reserved for parking of vehicles for people visiting the Tar Market but added that structures keep mushrooming overnight

The Tarchen-Khajan Tenant Association has alleged that illegal shops are erected in the land which belongs to the local farmers.

Suvarna Sangeet Vernekar, secretary of the association informed that a complaint has been filed with the Mamlatdar of Bardez and North Goa Collector in this regard by the Tarchen-Khajan Tenant Association. 

Ravindra Nagvenkar, Praveen Dhargalkar, Sandeep Harmalkar, Tulshidas Nagvenkar, Pandurang Nagvenkar, Rajesh Sangelkar, Mahabaleshwar Vernekar and Ghanshyam Garudi  Vernekar  were present on the occasion.
