Tension at Arrosim as taxi drivers stop coaches

VERNA: Tension flared up at Arrosim after taxi drivers forcibly stopped coaches from transporting tourists at a starred hotel.

Verna Police later registered an offence against the tourist taxi operators for restraining coach operators from picking and dropping the guests. According to Verna police, Siddesh Bhaidkar, assistant manager of a travel company, had filed a complaint against the tourist taxi operators at Arrosim. In his complaint, Bhaidkar stated that a company had arranged a two-day seminar on Wednesday and Thursday for a hundred guests from different states at a starred at Arrosim.  Bhaidkar stated that the tourist taxi operators restrained the coaches hired by the company and forced the company to drop the guests by hiring their taxis on both the days. Verna Police has registered an offence against the taxi operators under Section 341 R/W 34 of IPC and Verna PSI Anand Shirodkar is investigating.
