Tension in Siolim as another Russian woman found dead

MAPUSA: Tension continued to prevail in the village of Siolim after another Russian woman was found dead in a late development on Thursday night. The second Russian was found dead in a rented apartment. 

Following the first incident, the Anjuna police received a call at 7.20 pm from EMRI 108, informing that another Russian woman was found dead in her rented room at Bandirwaddo-Oxel, Siolim. Accordingly, a police team rushed to the spot.

On reaching there, police found one Ekaterina Titova (34), lying on the bed. Police said that the deceased was staying in a rented room along with another Russian woman.

Upon verification, the police did not find any external injuries on the body. Upon further inquiry with her roommate, it was revealed that they both had consumed alcohol till early Thursday morning and thereafter the deceased went to sleep in her bedroom while her friend slept in the hall.

On Thursday late evening, as there was no response, she opened the bedroom door and found the woman lying on bed and with no movement.

Earlier, Anjuna Police informed that the Russian national, Alexandra Ri Djavi (24) who had hung herself to a ceiling fan in the kitchen, in the absence of her boyfriend, was a suicide. 

Upon inquiry, it was revealed that the deceased was staying in a rented room with her boyfriend at Gublawaddo-Oxel, Siolim for last one month and she was under medication. 

The police have informed the Russian embassy about the deaths of the two women. The bodies have been preserved at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim morgue.
