MARGAO: Arlinda Tereza was elected unopposed as the Deputy Sarpanch of Village Panchayat of Cavorim Chandor. The elections were necessitated following the ouster of earlier deputy sarpanch Mafaldina Martins through a no confidence motion.
Arlinda’s name was proposed by former sarpanch Derrick Braganza Pereira and seconded by Edward D’Silva. Sarpanch Celina Coelho Furtado and panch Jose Pereira were also present for the meeting, but two members abstained from the meeting.
