PANJIM: The seven Anganwadi workers who had resorted to a 47-day long chain hunger strike after their services were terminated, have been reinstated by the State government. The Director of Women and Child Development Deepali Naik has issued an order reinstating them.
Following their termination, the Anganwadi workers had gone on a hunger strike and after the issue was raised during the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the union that the termination orders would be revoked.
