The deal
1) Costa was returned land under 8/1 with CM Kamat and MLA’s Mauvin Godinho and Jose Philip D Souza over ruling the airport authorities
2) Costa “agreed” to give an NOC to the govt to acquire 9/1 but in lieu of alternate land. Which land owner in this country has the luxury choosing if the govt should acquire his land
3) Bernard Costa, the infamous local resident who received this government largesse wrote to the CM “I do not want any monetary compensation for the acquisition of survey 9/1 but would request the government, if possible, to grant alternate settlement property admeasuring 20020 sq mts, in the same radius
4) May 12, 2006: In a meeting with the Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel, the Goa government had given an assurance to acquire the 8/1 property for parking purpose.
The minutes of that meeting, which is in possession of Herald state “The State government will make available for shifting Airport Housing Colony. It would make available lands for parking between Railway line and the Highway. (Which is 8/1).
