PANJIM: They broke into wild jigs when they struck a political lottery. Their leader Eknath Shinde went to Mumbai to be sworn in as Deputy CM but became Chief Minister, Surprise turned to jubilation as his MLAs camping in Goa, decided to break into a continuous dance, in the corridors of their salubrious convention resort. Unwilling to be confined they broke free and took to the road outside the hotel. But this didn’t turn out to be a good move.

Shiv Sena rebel MLAs spokesman Dipak Kesarkar on Friday said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had not liked the dancing of the MLAs in the hotel after his name was announced for the top post in Maharashtra on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons in the hotel, Kesarkar admitted that the newly sworn-in Chief Minister soon after his return to the hotel on Thursday night expressed his displeasure at MLAs dancing in the hotel after photos went viral on social media. Shinde, while expressing his displeasure with their dancing, also asked them to ensure that such things are not repeated in the future.

Kesarkar said, “We admit that it was a mistake by MLAs to dance that way both inside and outside the hotel. It does not look good for MLAs, who have been elected by the people and whose aim is to work for the betterment of people of Maharashtra and the State.”

Kesarkar further said that such mistakes do happen in the moment of happiness and ideally, they should not happen.
