MAPUSA: The landgrab mastermind Royson Rodrigues who is recently placed under arrest by SIT has reportedly sold more than 10 properties which have an approximate value running into multiple crores.
The total land that they managed to sell was 16,825 sq mts. Most of the registration was done in March 2022.
Though Royson was not the only one alleged to have grabbed and pocketed crores, (And Herald has and continues to track others) Royson collectively with Branca Rodrigues and Lenchu K James have manipulated several properties and survey numbers in the jurisdiction of Assagao, Badem, Anjuna, Parra, and Calangute.
Most of these sales are fraudulent where property has been bought and sold within the gang of land grabbers. In these sale deeds, Lenchu K James and Omkar Palyekar are portrayed as buyers while Royson is a seller.
In Assagao village, Royson along with Branca Rodrigues has sold eight properties while one each was sold in Parra and Badem. Similarly, Royson has allegedly sold Lenchu K James three properties each in Badem and Assagao and one in Parra. Further Royson sold Omkar Palyekar one property in Badem.
While some of the Forms I & IV of these survey numbers have the names of Royson and Branca, some of the survey numbers that the gang tried to manipulate but did not manage to get their names mutated because after the issue came to light, the owners filed an objection for the mutation. The objected ones are still owned by the original owners.
According to the list, in Anjuna, there are nine survey numbers that were manipulated; in Assagao twenty such survey numbers while in Badem nineteen, six in Parra and Reis Magos one.
Similarly, Royson along with Branca Rodrigues alias Branca Diniz has sold out properties that are valued at Rs 8,66,25,000 (Rs 8.6 cr).
The rough estimate Royson made from sales jointly made with family and associates (the Branca Family along with Lenchu K James) is Rs 3,55,00,000 rupees (Rs 3.5 cr).
And Royson Branca Fly with Omkar Palyekar has allegedly sold properties valued at Rs 17,850,000 (Rs 1.7 cr approx).
The total value of properties which Royson has allegedly sold-out (including the ones mentioned above) is Rs 139,975,000 (Rs 13.9 cr or about Rs 14 cr).
