A theft occurred at the Shree Satpurush Deva Temple in Morjim on Friday morning, where unidentified thieves forcibly broke into the temple’s donation box and made off with the entire contents, estimated to be worth thousands of rupees. Promptly informed by temple authorities, the police conducted a thorough panchnama at the scene to gather evidence.
The temple committee revealed that the donation box had not been opened for the past two years, accumulating a significant amount of funds. The thieves transported the heavy donation box to a nearby mountain pass, where they forcibly opened it, extracting all the money before abandoning the box at the site.
Locals suspect the theft was well-planned, possibly involving up to six individuals due to the size and weight of the donation box. This incident marks the second reported theft at the Shree Satpurush Deva Temple.
Upon receiving reports from locals, the police swiftly responded, conducting an extensive search of the area for any potential leads. Eventually, the empty donation box was discovered near the mountain pass, prompting further investigation into the case.
