FATORDA: Registering back to back wins, FC Goa pulled off a stunning performance against bitter rivals ATK to find themselves back into the top four however, coach Sergio Lobera believes there is always room for improvement.
“I don’t think perfection exists. There are always things and aspects which we can improve upon but I’m happy for the result. We played good football out there and had great mentality. We read the game well in the first part,” said Sergio Lobera during the post match conference at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.
After collecting two points from five games, the Gaurs now grabbed their second successive win and scored nine goals.
“I think in the earlier five games, we have managed to achieve just two points and I think we deserved much more. It is true that we weren’t to our best. I think the start of the league was very good for us. The most important part of the season, which was last week, we went out there, and finally have 27 points and this is a good tally,” said Lobera.
“The most important thing is that in the last two games we recovered and scored nine goals and this is our philosophy. I’m going to repeat — what is important now is the game on Sunday,” he added.
The result meant, the Gaurs registered their first win against ATK.
“I think we had control over the game and we had the best chances and were effective on the field. I’m happy at least the way my team started the first half and finished the game,” explained Sergio.
“It is against a team where a draw is sufficient for us but we are a team who go out there to win. Normally the teams went out there to play for a draw and ended up losing it. Jamshedpur is a good team, a team very difficult to play against and we saw that here at home as well.” he concluded.
