There will be no horse-trading of our candidates, warns RG

PANJIM: Against the backdrop of recent trends that have seen MLAs’ horse-trading by political parties once elected, Revolutionary Goans (RG) Founder Manoj Parab warned of action if any of their candidates attempted the same.

Speaking on the completion of their fourth year as an organisation, the RG founder made a host of promises in view of its entry into the political arena as a party.

He was asked by a local resident, what RG would do if there is horse-trading of their candidates by another political party.

“I will make sure that our candidate will stand by his people, if the candidate ever tries to jump to another party, RG will make sure that the public who voted and worked for the candidate will be retained by RG. We will hold a protest in front of the candidate’s door until he/she comes back to RG and works faithfully for his people,” said Parab.

Speaking further about their political plans, Manoj said, “We won’t be giving away money during the elections but we will be spreading our ideas and our vision document. We want to make policies with regards to education, safety, healthcare, farming, employment, fishing etc. Even our basic facilities like water are not preserved. There are so many households where taps run dry.”

He also emphasised on women safety and said that women in Goa are being harassed and addressing this, will be one of their major priorities.

“Why is there no CCTV in public places? Women travelling by bus have so many difficulties, but there is not a single ladies’ special bus, and all the government can do is only talk but there is no action which can safeguard the women,” he added.
