CALANGUTE: A Drishti lifesaver on Thursday caught a thief, who was trying to escape after snatching a handbag from a lady tourist in broad daylight at Calangute.
According to sources, at 3 pm, a man snatched the handbag of a lady and while he was trying to escape, 21-year-old Drishti Lifesaver Leslie Rodrigues, who was patrolling the beach, noticed the commotion when the couple called for help.

The lifesaver spotted the thief running with the bag and chased him. Further with the assistance of the people caught the thief, who was later taken into custody by the police and the stolen bag was returned to its owner.
