Thief faces brunt of irate Calconda locals

An alleged thief had to face the brunt of irate residents of Calconda here on
early Saturday morning.
Suspecting that the miscreant was involved in a motorcycle theft, the residents
caught hold of him and gave him a sound thrashing before he was stripped and
tied to a pole in the locality.
They claimed that they have caught the alleged thief red-handed while he was in
the process of stealing a motorcycle.
A team of Margao police later came and untied the miscreant, before taking the
thief to the police station in a waiting vehicle.
The Margao police later said a stolen motorcycle has been recovered from the
alleged accused.
