MARGAO: In a daring burglary, unknown culprits barged inside a residential house at Maddel and decamped with gold ornaments worth around Rs five lakh.
The incident occurred last night when the residents were sleeping. The culprits effected entry by removing the roof tiles
The shocked owner Joanita of the house said the burglars lifted away all the gold ornaments from the cupboard valued over Rs five lakh. The incident came to light today morning when she found a rope inside the house and the door open. She inquired with her mother whether the latter had opened the house. Her worst fears came true when she found the cupboard open and the gold and jewellery missing.
Margao police rushed to the house after being intimated of the burglary.
