MAPUSA: Unknown persons robbed Rs 5,000 in cash from a medical store but, failed to find anything from the other two shops in Mapusa market on Friday.
According to the owners, the incident came to light on Saturday when the owners opened their shops. The shutter of one of the shops was found broken and the roof of the other two shops was broken.
The thieves targeted rob a medical store owned by Warren Pinto, a cashewnut shop and another owned by Andrew D’Souza in the market.
As per the image captured on CCTV camera installed in one of the shops, the incident occurred at around 1 am where a person wearing mask was looking for money on the counter.
The miscreants managed to take away Rs 5,000 in cash from the medical store but, didn’t find any money from other two shops.
Mapusa Police conducted panchanama. Fingerprint expert was also pressed into service. Police have booked theft case against unknown persons and further investigation is in progress.
