VASCO: A gang of thieves targeted three automobile showrooms at Verna and decamped with cash of Rs three lakh from two showrooms on Thursday night.
According to information given by the police, the thieves entered the Goa Motors car showroom and stole Rs 2.73 lakh while, they broke into the Coastal Honda car showroom and decamped with Rs 60,000. The thieves also made an unsuccessful attempt to burgle the JCB showroom situated at Verna.
The theft took place despite the presence of security at all the showrooms. The CCTV cameras fitted in and around the showrooms but the thieves are learnt to have entered the mezzanine floor of the showroom through a sliding window and stole the portable safe containing cash.
The police conducted panchanama and pressed finger print experts in both the cases in a bid to obtain vital clues. The second theft case reported at the Goa Coastal Honda Showroom.
