Thieves trick city man, flee with Rs 2 lakh

PANJIM, APRIL 30 In a yet another daring theft, one Sunil Jaiswal of Old Goa was relieved of Rs 2 lakh from the heart of the city, Thursday morning.

In a yet another daring theft, one Sunil Jaiswal of Old Goa was relieved of Rs 2 lakh from the heart of the city, Thursday morning.Jaiswal in his complaint to the police claimed that he withdrew Rs 2 lakh from Dena Bank, Panjim and carefully wrapped it in a paper.
The complainant further claimed that as he kept the cash in his car, two unknown persons standing there told him that some currency notes had fallen outside.As he stepped out, the two persons picked the cash from the car and tried to flee, police said. Jaiswal who was quick to notice the duo raised an alarm, where some alert citizens managed to nab one culprit. He was later handed over to the cops but not before getting a sound thrashing from the public.
However, the stolen cash could not be recovered as his other partner made good his escape.
Police have identified the person as one Shokaram Chaudhary, a native of Rajasthan and residing at Thivim.
The identity of the other partner has not been established as of now, police said.
